I have a pioneer DEH-P4800MP radio unit, it has a front panel that swings down and the panel obviously has all my controls and buttons on it. Theres contacters that touch inside the flap and the actual inside front of the radio to send the signal from the buttons I push into the actual circuit boards inside the unit, the contacters are really touchy and barely ever make contact unless I lick my finger and put spit on them to get it to work until it dries. Theres about 6 copper contact spots that touch, my question, is if it would fix it to put aluminum foil inside to cover all the contact spots, or do you think that would short something out because it would then make the all of the normally separate contacters be going through the same current?

Answer by PimpMyRide
Aluminum foil will probably short out.

I’d advocate that you try a high quality electrical contact cleaner. Often such contacts can build up a really thin film of contaminants that reduce the electrical conductivity of the connectors. Cleaning them is usually sufficient.

Answer by Opinionated
No those programs are not needed and you can safely delete them.

Apple Mobile Device Support –> a utility that helps iTunes read data from your iPhone or iPod
Bonjour –> a networking utility to grant iTunes to share your music on a network
MobileMe –> a third celebration account aggregator that syncs contact info calender info and email with your iPhone and computer
Apple Software Update –> updates iTunes and Quicktime

Answer by Keilaron
Apple Mobile Device Support: Maybe. I honestly am not sure what it does, but if you do any synchronizations or anything with your personal and your iPod, you probably want to keep this.
Same thing for MobileMe Control Panel, I am guessing.
Bonjour is only a local network detection/sharing sorta service (well, that is the easy way to explain it), so you can definitely get rid of it.
Naturally, if you get rid of all those, you can get rid of Apple Software Update too.

Question by priest1578:
my main circuit breaker is over-heating, what does this mean?
it tripped this morning and was very hot to the touch. this breaker runs all of my indoor aplliances with the exception of our A/C, the washer and dryer are on this breaker panel as well. when the breaker tripped this morning the most that could’ve been on were the water-heater, dryer, t.v. and fridge, maybe a couple of lights.

——————————————

Answer by wannac
if there was not a heavy load on it, it should not have tripped {overload}. loose connections would make it hot however. if all of the major appliances were on along with a bunch of other “stuff” it might have been just doing its job. you might just need a new one, they do go bad sometimes. a basic service call from a qualified eletrician should answer and solve the problem. it is probably not serious, so watch your $ if you know what i mean. judging by your question, i dont think you should try to fix it yourself.

Answer by justathought
breaker is overloaded, you should not have all your appliances on one breaker that could be a fire hazard.

Answer by Dan
justathought has it right. That breaker is SERIOUSLY overloaded. Refrigerators should be on one circuit called an “appliance circuit”. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the only thing on the circuit but the rest of the line should be limited to one or two wall plugs. The dryer is the next culprit. If it is a 220v dryer, it should be on its own circuit with nothing else tapped off that line. The water heater falls under the same caution as the dryer. The Television and a few lights are probably OK on another circuit. The washer would fall under the same notes as the refrigerator. I strongly advice you to follow up on the advice to seek the view of a qualified electrician. Without actually seeing what is going on, based on your question only, you are asking for a lot of real problems.
